Trip Introduction;
Island Peak is also known as ‘Imja Tse’. It is an impressive peak that is located inside the Everest region of Nepal. It was named “Island Peak” by Eric Shipton and his expedition team in 1953. The peak contains massive ice coverage that can be seen from Dingboche. As a matter of fact, the first summit climb of Island Peak was made by Charles Evan, Alf Gregory, Charles Wylie and Tenzing Norgay as part of climbing preparation of Everest expedition. Apart from the adventurous climbing experience, the peak provides views of Mt. Nuptse 7879m, Mt. Lhotse 8501m, Lhotse Middle Peak 8410 m and Lhotse Shar 8383m. To its east is Mt. Makalu 8475m and Cho Polu. Similarly to its south rises Mt. Baruntse 7720m and Ama Dablam 6856m with countless number of surrounding high peaks.

Island Peak Climbing adventure journey with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition starts with a scenic mountain flight towards Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region of Nepal. After landing we gather our gears and begin our trek over gradually ascending main EBC trail that passes through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tyangboche to arrive at Dingboche. With proper acclimatization, we continue to trek as we approach Island Peak Base Camp. Before attempting the climb to Island Peak summit, we will do peak climbing preparation activities. Following the footsteps and guidance given by our experienced climbing experts, we will tackle several technical climbing sections and head towards the summit. Our tiring climb to the summit is rewarded with sensational views of world’s towering mountain ranges. After the successful summit achievement of Island Peak, we will follow the same route to descend back to Lukla. Our amazing experience of Island Peak Climbing ends with a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

We can also extend our trip for Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek, please feel free to contact us for tailor-made this program.

Second Guide, with Excellent Experience - Hong Kong

From the moment i bumped into D.B. at the airport I felt these guys were a safe bet. I had no previous experience of trekking or Nepal. But Prakash listened to my plans and put together a great trip. The price was very reasonable, and he managed to get me a guide, Dawa Sherpa, who was happy to carry my pack. He was a great guy to walk with for 22 + days, nothing was ever a problem, he always give me bet price for lodging, food, beer + cigarette and other essentials. Whenever I wanted to rest, we rested, when I wanted to push onto the near village, sometimes in the dark, we would. He didn?t complain once. Ever ewhen I suggested we climb Island Peak (6189m.) with no climbing experience, he made it happen, using his own experience and Savoy and contacts,. We got a permit and equipment from chulung , and a second guide, with excellent experience- and up we went . It was the perfect end to a superb trip, huge amount of fun, great exercise, great value. You should use this company, Nepal Guide Treks, they will listen to you and you can trust them on price, knowledge, experience, and general ease + pleasantness to deal with.

Have fur, all the best and let these guys with after your.

Kind regs,
Daroufterwlt (Shendy)

Island Peak and do an Everest region Trek - Seatle, USA.

It is hard to articulate how lucky and thankful I am that I walked into Nepal Guide Office from the first moment and first cup of tea I was treated with respect and honesty. There are so many trekking companies in KTM, it is almost impossible to know who to trust, my instinct, after visiting countless agencies, told me Prakash would make my trip memorable. He far and away exceeded my expectations; I first did the Annapurna Circuit Trek, what a way to first see Nepal! My guide was Rajan, he made me feel night at home and gave me such an ?inside? look at the scenery and Culture, I was then supposed to leave Nepal and travel to China. However I had such a great time on my first trek, I decided to stay and climb the Island Peak and do an Everest region trek. Prakash custom scheduled a trip for me. In a word, it was amazing! Again, Rajan was my guide for the trek. Ang Dawa was my climbing guide. I cannot say enough how much fun Island Peak Was. I have been traveling for quite a while and Prakash and Nepal Guide Treks are truly the capstore of my trip. Please feel free to email me with any questions or more info. Id love to talk about my adventures!

Cheers,
Tommy Trause
