Trip Introduction;
Kyajo Ri is an fascinating and attractive peak that is situated in the Khumbu and Everest region of Nepal. It is the highest summit on the southern flanks of the Khumbu Himal range that runs north of Namche Bazaar. The climbing of this challenging and physically demanding peak was permitted only after 2002 by the Nepalese Ministry of Tourism. The first ascent of the peak was made by a British and French expedition team in the same year. The climb to the summit of Kyajo Ri Peak is the combination of moderate rock climbing and steep alpine ice that provides adventure filled challenges and breathtaking views of peaks over 8000 meters including Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Makalu 8463m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8201m and other spectacular high peaks in the Khumbu Himal range.

Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks starts at Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing at Kathmandu valley we will take a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu towards the airstrip of Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region of Nepal. Our trek starts from Lukla, we follow the trail that goes along the Dudh Koshi river through dense forest filled with Rhododendron and Oak trees towards the Sherpa Capital – Namche Bazaar. After spending an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar we will follow the trail that is a gradual ascent all the way to Kyajo Ri Base Camp. With additional days of acclimatization we head further high towards Camp I and then to Camp II. Our Sherpa crew will make necessary checks on our climbing gears and health conditions before heading towards the Kyajo Ri Peak summit.

Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts, we start early with the aim to reach the peak summit before midday as the strong winds after noon can create obstacles in climbing the peak summit. We will overcome several technical sections and head towards the well defined summit of Kyajo-Ri Peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with panoramic views of towering mountains of Khumbu region including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and other surrounding chain of high peaks. After spending short quality time at the summit we will descend following the same route back to base camp. For our return journey we will retrace our footsteps and follow the trail that leads us back through Namche Bazaar and towards Lukla. Our adventurous and challenging Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks ends with a sweeping flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.
