Trip Introduction;
Langtang Lirung 7,234 meters is the highest summit among Langtang Himalayan Ranges of Nepal. Mount Langtang Lirung is situated to the north of popular – Langtang valley and southwest of Mt Shishapangma (Tibet). Langtang Lirung is well known for its large vertical massif of 5,500 meters that separates Sunkoshi valley in the east and Trishuli-Gandaki valley in the west. The Langtang Lirung Expedition or climbing is considered difficult that offers unlimited challenges filled with excitement and thrill, making it a perfect option for adventure seeking mountaineers.

Langtang region remained largely unknown and mysterious until Bill Tilman’s exploration around 1949. Many attempts has been made for the climb of Langtang Lirung summit. However, the first successful ascent of Langtang Lirung was made by British Expedition team in 1973. High level of technical climbing skills, good physical condition and previous experience of peak climbing is highly recommended by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition for successful summit of Langtang Lirung Expedition.

Langtang Lirung Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition starts at Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing around Kathmandu, we will take a long and scenic drive towards Dunche. We start our trek from Dunche on the trail that is a gradual uphill trekking through terraced farmlands and dense forest filled with rhododendron, oak and pine trees. After few days of trekking we will arrive at Kyangjin Gompa. Acclimatization is very crucial in higher altitudes to ensure the successful summit climb and to avoid mental and physical sickness. For acclimatization we will make a Hike up to Tsergo-Ri at 4,985 meters and enjoy magnificent views of breathtaking valleys and surrounding mountains within Langtang valley.

Leaving Kyangjin Gompa we will follow the trail that leads to Langtang Lirung Base Camp. Our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camp and make necessary checks on our climbing gears and health conditions. Fully equipped and properly acclimatized we will follow the instructions and guidance of our experienced climbing experts and head towards the summit of Langtang Lirung. Once at the top, we are rewarded with stunning views of Langtang Himalayan Ranges including Pemthang Karpo 6830m, Gangchenpo 6387m and across the border in Tibet rises the huge mass of Shishapangma 8046m. After spending quality time at the summit, we will descend following the same route back to base camp. Having achieved the summit of Langtang Lirung, our return journey is made following the same trail back to Syabrubesi. The challenging and adventurous Langtang Lirung Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition ends with a scenic drive from Syabrubesi back to Kathmandu.

Great Climbing Experience !!! Langtang Lirung !!! Success .. Thanks to NGT's team

We found Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition in the internet and booked our Langtang Lirung Expedition. At first we were not sure how things were going to be but now after successfully completing the expedition successfully, we just want to thank every single effort done by the team members for making our trip memorable experience. Our guide was Ang-Dendi Sherpa, a patient man with high level of technical climbing knowledge. Without his guidance we wouldn’t have been able to reach the summit. The climbing was very tiring with several technical sections , but it was all worth once we reach the summit. It was a life-time experience for each one of us. We are very happy that we made a wise decision doing the expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition!! We will surely recommend other climbers about your service and ambitious nature. We wish you luck in future. No matter what, when mountains calls,, we will come again !! 😀
