Trip Introduction;
Mount Nuptse 7,861 meters is located in the Khumbu Himalayan Range just southwest of Mount Everest. The name ‘Nup-tse’ is derived from Tibetan word which literally means ‘West Peak’. Neighboring to Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse is well recognized for its steep west face that drops down more than 2300 meters to the Khumbu Glacier. Additionally, the steep and rocky south-face of Mount Nuptse is 2500 meters high and 5 kilometers wide.

The first successful ascent of Mt Nuptse was made by Dennis Davis and Tashi Sherpa on May 16, 1961, via north-ridge (Scott-route) from British Expedition team. The climb to the summit is very challenging and difficult but offers the experience of a life time achievement. Apart from the expedition, one gets to explore the flora and fauna within Khumbu and Everest region of Nepal. Nuptse Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition is an excellent opportunity for adventure seeking climbers to gain ultimate climbing experience all being in the midst of world’s towering mountains.

Nuptse Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expeditions starts at Kathmandu. After spending a couple of days sightseeing and making necessary preparation for the climb at Kathmandu, we will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to the airstrip of Lukla – gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest Region. From Lukla, we start our trek on a trail that goes through dense forest filled with Rhododendron, Oak and Pine trees towards Namche Bazaar – The Sherpa Capital. With good acclimatization days, our trek continues passing through Tyangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche as we head towards Nuptse Base Camp. As soon as we arrive at the base camp, our Sherpa crew will set up the camps and make necessary preparations needed for Nuptse expedition.

Following the instructions and guidance given by our experienced climbing experts, we will spend several days with proper acclimatization and vision to reach the summit of Mount Nuptse. Our tiring and exhausting climb to the summit is rewarded with breathtaking views of high mountain valleys and world’s towering mountains within Khumbu Himalayan Range. After having achieved the summit, we will descend following the same route and head back to reach the base camp. Our return journey is made following the same trail back to Lukla. Our challenging and exceptional Nuptse Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition ends with a sweeping flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

Successful Expedition of Mt Nuptse !!! Awesome Experience !!

We just completed our Nuptse Expedition with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition. We want to thank the whole team of NGT for arranging, and doing great team work on a regular basis during the whole expedition period.

Everyone was friendly, hard working and focused on reaching the target – Nuptse summit. We were provided with all the necessary gears – from tents, comfy mattress , oxygen masks and cylinders when needed.

Our climbing guide was Ang-Dawa Sherpa , he made right decisions and had best technical climbing experience. Without his guidance, reaching the summit would not be possible on our own. So many thanks to Ang-Dawa Sherpa for leading us to the summit for a memorable expedition.

We are inspired to attempt higher mountains in future !!!!

We also want to thank the entire team who carried all our gears from tents to food and everything else. Their support is highly acknowledged by us.

Overall, we would like to recommend Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition for those wanting to do trekking and climbing in Nepal.

We will surely be back for doing more adventure climbing expedition together with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.

Wishing Best of Luck !!
