It is an excellent opportunity for climbers seeking ultimate and thrilling adventure while gaining an experience of a life time by achieving the summits of three peaks – Pokalde Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche Peak in the Everest Region of Nepal.

Pokalde Peak:
Pokalde Peak 5,806 meters is a relatively easier climbing peak that appears as a crenelated rocky ridge dominated by the vast bulk of Nuptse. The peak was first climbed in 1953 via Kongma La along its North Ridge by a John Hunt, Wilfrid Noyce, Tom Bourdillon and Mike Ward, all members of 1953 Everest Expedition Team. The summit offers a good viewpoint and well known as fine little peak.

Island Peak:
Island Peak or Imja Tse is the most popular trekking peak in Nepal that rises miraculously as an Island in a sea of ice surrounded by Lhotse and Lhotse Shar Glaciers. Located above the summer settlement of Chhukung, the name Island Peak was given by Eric Shipton’s party in 1952 while exploring around the Barun Gorge. However, first ascent of Island Peak was made in 1953 by Charles Evan, Alf Gregory, Charles Wylie and Tenzing Norgay as a part of preparation climbing for the Everest Expedition.

Lobuche (East) Peak:
Lobuche Peak 6,119 m is an attractive peak that comprises of several small summits. The climbing of the true summit requires high level of technical climbing skills and assistance of experienced climbing experts. The true East peak is quite fascinating and is reached by descending into a marked notch and then climbing steep snow and ice slopes to the top. The first recorded ascent of the peak was made by Laurence Nielson and Sherpa Ang Gyalzen on 24th April 1984.

Three Peaks Climbing Pokalde Island Lobuche with Nepal Guide Treks starts at Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we will take a scenic flight to the airstrip of Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region of Nepal. Our trek starts from there following the trail that leads to Namche Bazaar – The Sherpa Capital. Acclimatization is very crucial for ensuring successful summit climbs. Hence, after spending a good day of acclimatization at Namche Bazaar we follow the trail that is a gradual uphill trekking through Tyangboche and towards Dingboche. From Dingboche, we head higher to reach Pokalde Peak Base Camp and then to the high camp. Following the guidance of experienced climbing experts, we head towards the summit of Pokalde peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with magnificent views of surrounding peaks. We descend via same route and trek towards Chhukung.

From Chhukung we head towards Island Peak Base Camp. As the climb of Island peak is more difficult with several technical sections that must be tackled to reach the summit. With proper acclimatization and high degree of commitment, we head towards the summit of Island Peak. Once at the top we are rewarded with magnificent views of Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu, Lhotse Middle Peak, Lhotse Shar, Mt Nuptse, Mt Baruntse, the majestic Ama Dablam and other surrounding high snow covered peaks. After achieving the Island Peak summit we descend following the same route back and head towards Dingboche, Lobuche and towards Gorakshep. From Gorakshep we will trek towards Everest Base Camp which is decorated with colorful prayer flags, after a short excursion at EBC we head back to Gorakshep. Our adventure filled journey in the midst of world’s towering mountains head towards one of the best viewpoints on earth – Kala Patthar at 5545 meters for magnificent views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Pumori, Lhotse, Makalu and other surrounding peaks. After spending quality time at Kala Patthar we descend back to Gorakshep and follow the main trail that heads towards Lobuche.

From Lobuche, we head towards the Lobuche Peak Base Camp and then to High Camp. After having achieved Polkalde peak and Island Peak we head towards the summit of Lobuche Peak which is technically straight forward. Once at the top we will spend some quality time with good views of mountains around Khumbu and Everest Region. Then we will descend retracing our footsteps back to Lobuche Peak Base Camp. After having successfully achieved the three peaks our return journey is made through Pangboche and Namche Bazaar to arrive at Lukla. Our memorable and ultimate adventure of Three Peaks Climbing Pokalde Island Lobuche with Nepal Guide Treks ends with a sweeping flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu.

Pokalde, Island & Lobuche : Successful climbs '' Thanks NGT ''

It is trustworthy company. With full arrangements of fixing climbing permits of Pokalde Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche Peak, we cooperated online regarding the exchange of official documents, such as submitting our details with passport copies and flight details. There was absolutely no problem with the payment.

We received top class service during the whole climbing duration. Ang-Dendi Sherpa, our climbing guide had top level of technical climbing skills. Together, we did successful climb to the summit of all three peaks. As we love climbing, we enjoyed every moment of the climb. Many thanks to all the Sherpa team members who did all the hard job from carrying all the necessities and with humble and cooperative nature. Our kitchen crew provided us hygienic meals and served very well.

We have lot of pictures from the climbing days, we want to do more climbing with Nepal Guide Treks in future. We heartly recommend this company for professional service while you explore the hidden corners in the mountain country of Nepal.
