For acclimatization, we can hike up to Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or an hour’s walk up to Syangboche at 3,800 meters for best views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. Our trail is often snow-covered and icy, so we may have to make use of ropes and crampons during our trek today. The continuous uphill trekking can be very tiring, so resting every now and then helps in restoring energy. After some time we will arrive at a good campsite at 5400 meters. Our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camp and make final checks on our climbing gears and our health conditions before the main summit climb of Lobuche Peak, the following day.

Further climbing involves several technical sections that we must tackle in order to reach the summit. Once at the summit, we are rewarded with magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam and other surrounding high peaks in the Khumbu region. We will spend short quality time at the summit before descending down following the same route back to base camp.

In a short time, we will arrive at a good campsite at 5,000 meters above the sea level. Our Sherpa crew will set up the camp at the foot of Island Peak’s south ridge beneath the giant wall of Mt Lhotse and Mt Nuptse.
9-10 hrs climbing Island Peak Tented Camp
Fully acclimatized and properly equipped with all the climbing gears, we start early with the aim to reach the summit of technically demanding – Island Peak before midday. Once at the top we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt Lhotse. Mt Makalu, Lhotse Middle Peak, Lhotse Shar, Mt Nuptse, Mt Baruntse and other surrounding peaks in Khumbu region.
